My name is Gemma and I am 32 years old. I live with my husband (Dave) and our dachshund (Walter) in the north west of England. I am a carer/support worker for a special needs teenager. I love my job and I am passionate about disability/special needs awareness.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on walks with Walter, eating out, cooking, going the gym, reading, watching films and tv series, playing on my Xbox One and listening to rock and metal music.
In December 2014, I was diagnosed with moderate depression and anxiety as a result of what can only be described as a breakdown.
This blog is a way of documenting what it is like living with depression and anxiety. I have been on a huge journey since December 2014 including numerous different medications and talking therapies. I am in such a better place now and I am able to manage (for the most part) my anxiety and depression.
At the end of February 2017, Dave and I found out that I was pregnant and due 8th November.
Our little girl, Daisy Georgia arrived 19 days early on 20th October 2017.
Welcome to blogging we have a great community here, and look forward to reading more:)

Hi, may I start with thanks for visiting my blog. I know where you are coming from when you say sometime you feel “lost to the dark”. There is a ray of light out there, and sometime you need to grab it and hold it tight. I know it is easier said and done, trust me I have the scars to prove it.
I will subscribe to your blog, and post it on my facebook and google+ if that is ok with you 😀

thank you for stopping by my blog! I know where you are coming from. I’m the mom of an Autistic boy and a very advanced daughter. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety. It’s one hell of a life! The secret is to look for the tiny little sparks of joy and hold onto them with all you’ve got.

I think it is amazing that you have a blog that talks about mental health during pregnancy. It is something that isn’t spoken about. You’re doing amazing, keep going ❤️

Thank you so much. I am doing really well mental health wise. Just the odd spell of anxiety at times but I think that’s pretty normal for first time mums/pregnant women x
